Maple Leaves

Japanese Maple Leaves
The Floating World

Ryoi, "Tales of the Floating World", ca. 1661

"Living only for the moment, turning our full attention to the pleasures of the moon,
the snow, the cherry blossoms and the maple leaves; singing songs, drinking
wine, diverting ourselves in just floating, floating; caring not a whit for the
pauperism staring us in the face, refusing to be disheartened, like
a gourd floating along with the river current: this is
what we call the floating world."

The Prosperous Spiritual Season

By Fellow Initiate Chung, London, Canada

"In late autumn, October, red maple leaves cover the entire city of London, which is
located in the southwestern part of the province of Ontario, Canada. The cool
autumn wind also brings spiritual messages to this "city of forests."
Fellow initiates from the London Meditation Center participated,
for the first time, in the annual "Holistic Health Fair" and
organized discussion sessions on the Quan
Yin Method at a local university..."

In memoriam

"I remember days of our youth,
when three of us trod paths covered with leaves of
maple and oak, drove roads of dirt and concrete,
and spoke of our dreams and fears..."
